Buy Back centres located at Council’s smaller waste facilities have been closed for the past fortnight.

The Buy Back centres are an important part of Council’s waste diversion strategy and the current change in operations provides an opportunity to review the long-term management of those operations. Council is working to develop a model that has the capacity to deliver an efficient, sustainable and customer-friendly experience.

Currently, suitable Buy Back material that is dropped off at Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Bendalong, Conjola, Sussex Inlet and Kioloa Recycling & Waste Depots is transferred to West Nowra, Huskisson or Ulladulla Depots for on-selling in those Buy Back centres.

The Buy Back centres at West Nowra, Huskisson and Ulladulla have been upgraded to ensure recycling is maximised and customer safety is prioritised. Customers should note the revised trading hours for Buy Back at those Depots are 10am to 4pm, 7 days per week.

Council will advise residents when more permanent management plans, focusing on re-use and community need, are concluded.
