On 9 November, the proponents lodged a request with Council for a review of the refusal of their Mt Hay ‘primitive glamping’ DA.
In an attempt to overturn the refusal, SET Consultants have just ‘removed’ the permanent timber platforms for the tents and ensuite facilities so that the proposal complies with the SLEP definition of a camping ground
– see SET 29 Oct Cover Letter.
It’s clear however that the aim is to pursue approval for a function centre under the guise of a ‘communal camp kitchen’.
We have previously raised issues around ‘primitive glamping’ with Council and in Forum newsletters, most recently in July when Council refused the DA.
The Forum Committee has written to Council in support of residents to voice its concerns and issues with the review that has been requested.
